Mogoče do dveh. Hvala lepa. Mislim, bolj sem happy with the way I look right now, kot sem zgledala pred, ne vem, dvema letoma, pač obviously. To sem jaz in to bom jaz vedno. Ampak ne občutek sebe. In do tega kola želim prijeti z vsem tem, kar delam. Wonderful. I'm happy that you care about such things. Your English is very good. And your mother tongue is Hindi? Well, both. I speak Hindi with my mother. So you take the term mother tongue very good. And your mother tongue is Hindi? Well, both. I speak Hindi with my mother. So you take the term mother tongue very literally. And one thing that I just thought of. Do you plan on having children anytime soon? Um, I would rather not answer that. No, no, please don't get me wrong. It is very important to us to help support young mothers and families. There's a kindergarten right around the corner, for example. Well, if I'm being perfectly honest, I could imagine having children sometime in the near future. And what would you imagine to be your salary? Good question. 3000 before taxes would be reasonable, I should think. Well, that is a bit more than we imagined, but I'm sure we can figure something out. And are you married? Not yet, but in three months. Oh, congratulations. And what does your future husband do for a living? My wife-to-be works as a doctor. Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realise. When was that legalised? 2016, right? Actually in late 2018. I have to say it did take a lot out of me if I'm being honest But in the end love conquers all So you are politically active and besides that what are your hobbies? I like to cook and I make music with my friends. Yes, I can imagine In a string quartet. Oh, right. That's lovely. Would you be willing to be on the company photograph? You know, we're trying to show diversity in our firm. Sure. Okay. Could you imagine working in a different department as well? Well, I guess I could. What exactly would that be? We'd need a secretary for half the day. Only if you're interested, of course. I've never worked as a secretary before and I did apply for this position. Yes, of course. I understand. In your case, I would have thought of a leading position in our team anyway. Well, that would be great. Wonderful. I just have one last question. Where does that name actually come from? From Nigeria. I just have one last question. Where does that name actually come from? From Nigeria. And how long have you been here? So you just assume that I'm from Nigeria? I just thought. All right. I just thought... Alright. I see that you're also a feminist activist. How does that go together with wearing a headscarf? That just doesn't fit to my mind, if I can be so honest. What kind of a question is that? I decided for myself to wear a hijab, and feminism also stands for autonomy over my own body. But you could take it off at work, right? Do you have any other questions? I'm sorry, of the world.... Kjell, du har en kvartal. I'm sorry. I'm going to go get some water. Nettokens I'm sorry. Ah! Hi and welcome everyone, I'm Leonie and here with me is Andreas Dürr. Today we are talking about his film Disconnected Head. with me is Andreas Dürr. Today we are talking about his film Disconnected Head and before I start with the first question I wanted to tell you what I really liked about your film is that it was really thrilling and I felt like I'm the man who runs away and I just love that feeling. Thank you. You're welcome. So my first question to you, what was your background idea for this film? question to you what was your background idea for this film so um the story kind of developed out of the style and the short film i did before and this one i did storyboards on that and that kind of looked like this with silhouettes and primitive very primitive um animation since it was just a storyboard. Then I started to experiment with this style a little bit more than I kind of played a little bit with light and kind of tried to animation and develop an animation style that I could do very fast. I used a lot of pre-made animations and since the characters were all silhouettes that makes everything much easier. There were no textures and everything was done with color and light, which really sped up the production. And after I saw what this style of animation could do, I started to think of a story. I tried to write something, but I was never happy about what I brought to the page. So at the end, I just started to animate the first scene and went along from that. Very cool and how long did it take you to make this animation film? Since I could work a lot with assets and which means I didn't have to do everything and from scratch for every scene I could just use the same pre-made objects and drop them into the scene at some point i could do one shot in one or two hours which is pretty fast for animation yeah that's true but what took way longer was thinking about what shot i would do next and uh what programs did you use for that? I used Blender and DaVinci Resolve, which is all free software, so everyone could download it. That's cool. So I think in DaVinci Resolve, you just color graded the stuff and cut it together? Yeah, I did the sound design. Ah, okay. And did some compositing. All the rain that's done in the film was all done in the fusion stage. A lot of glows and the scene at the end where the reality is breaking together was also done in the compositing. Yeah, thank you for this talk about your film. I hope we see you at the UK festival in Wales. Yes, I think so. So I wish you all the best. Thank you and bye. Hi and welcome everyone. I'm Leonie and here with me is Jada and today we talk about the film Code Red. And before I ask you the first question I wanted to tell you what I really liked about your film are the visual metaphors to illustrate the feelings of menstruation. And I think this metaphor has captured the feeling very, very well. Thank you. Thank you. So the first question. Your film is about a very important topic in my eyes. In fact, about the lack of easy accessibility to feminine hygiene products. What was the reason to make a film about that topic so it all started in my junior right screenwriting class that like the whole yeah the whole class i'm the only female in it and like i was we all had to like write pitches for it and i was like in my period depression and i had my writer's block so i'm like i'm not gonna think about the scale of this production I just want to write something I like and I want to make people feel exactly how I was feeling at the moment which was like bleeding yeah and I think it's very important to show male people that how it feels yeah because I really wanted it to be like a fun and entertainment like entertaining for the audience but also it's like educational in a way that people are informed of how it is like regardless of the gender and they can all empathize with it so i think like code red itself turns out to be a really good starting point on talking on breaking the stigma yeah and like eventually like period poverty in schools yeah totally I think the film turned out very well thank you and how many days did it take you to shoot the film we had five days three five days yeah yeah we had two and a half days at the location of the school school it's an after-school program place it's gross ink uh we shoot it there and then we did all the metaphorical scenes in one and a half day so that is five days right three and a half days in the location then yeah damn it's so interesting because the whole thing was going to be my senior thesis i graduated in 2022 sorry 2020 so the day the week we're supposed to go into production was when covid started in march oh shit so we pushed the whole production into um summer that's why like we're able to do it in five consecutive days with like people not needing to go to classes okay damn i thought it took you way longer really so professional we're like working so thank you for taking your time no problem and thank you thank you um i wish you all the best thank you you too thanks bye hello we are here uh with q and a for yuki with mansa raccoon uh with her film Young Again. My first question to you would be, it was actually your first film, right? How did you come up with the idea and why did it become a film? Okay, so the film was part of my university project. So I took the documentary filmmaking module and we had to make a film. And it was so this was 2020, 2021 school year. And I was actually back home doing everything online remotely. So the idea came from just, you know, trying to capture young adult lives during the pandemic so me and my friends um we went to um this place that one of my friends has um and it's been I think the first time after pandemic that we all could hang out together and I just wanted to capture um their thinking their reflection of the past year and And this is really how it ended up being a film, I guess. It was part of my student project, but also even if it wasn't, I think I might make a film. How was it for you the first time making a film? It was definitely time making a film like it was definitely a learning process I'd say so I had a professional equipment sort of for the first time um so I had to you know learn how to work the camera um there were many you know shots where for example there were some I don't know troubles with it so just you know the lenses not being as clear as they should be or the sound not being as good as it should be and so on and so on so there were definitely some things that I think were a beginner's mistake I'd say but also like in terms of the filming it was definitely a learning experience because also because it's a documentary. So you don't really have a script to follow. You have a rough idea of what you want to film, but then it's very spontaneous and you don't really know what the people will say. You don't really know what material you will get. But I think this is also the really rewarding part, that you just see what happens. So all in all, I'd say it's a learning experience. There are definitely things that you just have to take into account if you are doing the film for the first time, that not everything will go smoothly, that there will be no challenges along the way. But I'm really happy with the final result but yeah i'd say also a very rewarding experience yeah thank you we are already out of time but thank you for your answers thank you to the audience and have a nice day yeah thank you for including me in your official selection um and yes, thank you for having me. Hello, everyone. I'm Laurenz from UKEE, from the program team. And I am speaking to three quarters of the film crew of any other questions. Thomas Guggenberger, Stephanie Huber, and Verena Aigner. Charlie Ehlers is missing. At the time you made this film, you were students at Kunst-Uni Linz studying film. And my first question to you is, any other questions takes up the topic of discrimination in the labor section, sector? Many different stereotypes and discriminating narratives are dealt with in the film. On what source of inspiration was your project based on? The film was based on a study by the university professor Doris Weichselbaumer. She is the head of the Institute for Women's and Gender Research at the JKU in Linz. that people with the same qualifications and the same qualifications but different backgrounds are more often invited to interview than others. Yes. In the beginning of the film, you can see a symbolic visualization of the unjust situation in the labor market. Can you explain us a bit about how that idea came about? Yeah, so we thought we choose the game as a motif to make like also like an atmosphere because we wanted to make a clear illustration of the study and the discrimination in the labor market and we also wanted to have that people in this situation clearly see the discrimination and also to make it seem like a bit absurd especially to have a clear contrast afterwards in the job scene that follows. And as the film's title is called, Any Other Questions, if you were to hire someone, what kind of questions would you think are really important to ask as opposed to the ones you heard in the film? But it's clear that the questions should be related to the qualifications of the applicant and for the if they're important for the job and nothing personal or I don't know culture wise doesn't matter it's just like what is important for the job what are the qualifications of the candidate and yeah, that's what we got off. We knew before also, but this movie was, made it a lot more clear. Thank you so much for taking your time and we'll hope to see more from you soon in some constellation. Thank you very much. Thank you very much thank you too hello i'm daniel and this is matt leshko he's the director of scars sirens song how you doing matt yeah i'm doing i'm doing good thank you thank you uh thank you for choosing my film it's an honor you're welcome we're very happy to receive your film we really loved it so this is a really like intense movie like it's like has a lot of fantasy aspects it's like very action-packed can you tell me like what were your influences how did you get to this particular style of storytelling yeah the style of storytelling uh i can style of storytelling yeah the style of storytelling uh i can definitely say that i uh grew up with uh gindi tardikovsky samurai jack that was a big influence in the way i like perceived storytelling and uh like to uh view my movies and the films and animation and I guess I wanted to do something similar in terms of the blend of visual storytelling where there aren't a lot of words because there's a lot of Slavic mythology and folklore intertwined in the like in the story and there's a lot of influence from real stuff, from fairy tales. I listen to a lot of these kinds of stories from my great-grandma who I've dedicated the film to. Can you tell me, obviously animation is a lot of technique, it's a lot of work, it takes very long. obviously animation is a lot of technique it's a lot of work it takes very long um what was the process of creating the animation in this film so uh i've uh i've completed this film in about two and a half years but uh i've done like 90 of the animation by myself uh and uh it was a lot of back and forth between like well i wanted to make something that i wanted to see as a viewer and experience as a viewer and i wanted to do it right so i like reanimated like first half like probably two times just to get the the the animation style right because i didn't have a supervisor and i didn't have an art director i was my own art director so the design of the characters changed slightly by the the middle of the production and I saw that and I went well I gotta change the first like shots I did to reflect what what has changed so uh yeah that was a very long process any projects in the future that we can be excited for that you have coming up? I want to do more in the realm of Slavic myths and folklore and possibly even continue this story, the story of Anjouka, the girl here. Currently, I'm working on an adaptation of a classic work of literature called Ruslan and Lyudmila by Pushkin. We're going to probably release it next year. Yeah. And hopefully share it with the world. Yeah. Yeah. I think that's all the time we have, unfortunately, but I thank you very much for your amazing film. And like I already said, I'm very excited for your next project. And I hope to see you sometime in Wels. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah. Thank you. It you, yeah thank you it's an honor again yeah thanks.
