Mal statt und positioniert Linz von 26. April bis 1. Mai 2023 einmal mehr als cinephilen Treffpunkt für zeitgenössisches Autor*innenkino aus Europa. 139 Spiel-, Dokumentar- und Kurzfilme aus 45 Ländern ermöglichen dem Publikum im Jubiläumsjahr eine filmische Reise von Grönland bis ans Schwarze Meer, zeigen unkonventionelle, sozialkritische sowie künstlerisch ambitionierte Perspektiven der jungen Generation von Filmemacher*innen aus Europa und bieten Anstoß zur unmittelbaren Auseinandersetzung mit der europäischen Gegenwartsgesellschaft. Unter den gezeigten Arbeiten befinden sich zahlreiche Uraufführungen sowie international ausgezeichnete Filme, die erstmals in Österreich zu sehen sein werden.
