Presentation: PLUG & PLAY: From Film to Game

PLUG & PLAY is an award winning animated short film by Michael Frei, that is currently developed further into a game for the web and mobile platforms. The film elaborates the difference between a socket and a plug by describing a world of anthropoid creatures with plugs in place of heads – dictated by raised fingers. In the game, the user impersonates the role of the fingers and rules the world himself. Mario von Rickenbach, a game-maker, joined the film-maker for the creation of the game. In this collaboration, different backgrounds and experiences move the project forward. The presentation will give insight about the development process and the thoughts behind the project.
