Nimikry
Grown up as classical instrumentalists, with an extensive training in composition, as well as contemporary sound art, we are devoted to perform on stage and present various concert programs featuring both our own music and music composed for our instrumentarium.
We direct our attention on music featuring electronics or multi-media as an integral element of the composition.
Arranging, adapting and re-integrating contemporary music, as well as classical masterpieces of the 20th-century to todays technological standards is for us also of great importance.

Alessandro Batticci is active internationally as a freelance flautist, composer and electroacoustic performer in the field of contemporary music and sound art. Engagements have taken him to Japan, Argentina, China, France, Germany, Denmark, Italy and Austria among other countries, performing in the most important venues and festivals such as Salzburger Festspiele, Darmstadt Ferienkurse, Wien Modern, Wiener Festwochen, Klangspuren Schwaz, Rondó, IRCAM, Wiener Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus, ORF Radiokulturhaus.
His dedication to contemporary music led him not only to cooperations with composers such as Beat Furrer, Tristan Murail, Salvatore Sciarrino and Brian Ferneyhough, but also to an intensive activity in the field of sound installations, performing art and electro-acoustic composition.
His inventive approach brought him to develop electro-acoustical instruments, digital control and mapping instruments as well as sound solutions for wind instruments.
Born in Milan, Italy, Alessandro started his musical education at a very early age. He studied electro-acoustic composition, flute, sound engineering and visual art in Milan and Vienna.

Viola-player, composer and inventor, Rafal Zalech was born in Wroclaw (Poland), 1988.
He studied viola & electro-acoustic composition at the University for Music and performing Arts in Vienna, Austria, as well as chamber music at Yale University, USA.
His concert activity comprises some of the most renowned contemporary music ensembles e.g. Klangforum Wien, Scenatet Copenhagen to name a few. Chamber music as well as solo performances brought him to festivals all over Europe such as Huddersfield Festival, New Directions Festival, 8 Brücken Cologne, März Musik Berlin, Wien Modern and Warsaw Autumn.
Since 2012 he has been working on a platform for augmented musical instruments, as well as designing a digital finger-sensing technology to map string instruments. He is the author of RZ.library - a Max/Msp abstraction package dedicated to live sound processing, as well as other apps and softwares related to real-time operations.
